LUDWIG BEILSCHMIDT
Pay Attention, Feliciano!
NAME: Ludwig Beilschmidt
AGE: Sixteen (16)
GRADE: Junior
NATIONALITY: German
POSITIVE TRAITS:
- Loyalty. If he has agreed to help someone, he will do it, despite the headaches it might give him.
- Strength. He is strong both physically and emotionally and adept at hiding pain.
- Courage. He is almost unaffected by fear and is able to face just about anything.
- Intelligence. He catches on quickly to whatever he is learning when he puts his mind to it.
- Stubbornness. He does not give up easily, for better or worse.
- Protectiveness of Order. He keeps his space and his life clean.
NEGATIVE TRAITS:
- Emotion. Since he can hide pain so readily, he often buries his pain and sadness away.
- Ludwig is an introvert. He often is locked up inside himself and does not really enjoy conversation.
- Unapproachability. He often comes across as frightening due to his inwardness, which causes others to think him unapproachable.
- Stubbornness. He does not give up easily, for better or worse. (yes, it’s both a strength and a weakness)
- Protectiveness of Order. He sometimes keeps his space and life too clean.
- Affection. He can’t show it. He just can’t.
LIKES:
- Reading
- Organization
- Beer (especially of the German variety)
- Dogs
- Cooking/Baking (though he’d never admit it)
- His few moments of solitude and relaxation
- Gilbert
- Feliciano (though he would never admit that, either)
DISLIKES:
- Unnecessary conflict
- Gilbert’s rambunctiousness and tomfoolery
- Lovino
- Lovino’s dislike of him
- An excess of excitement and noise
- Headaches
- Rude classmates/countries
- Laziness (his own or anyone else’s)
- Anything he deems stupid or idiotic (that is, a lot of things)
FEARS:
- That any harm might come to the few people he genuinely cares about
- That the world will soon dissolve into chaos now that the nations are all at school
out of character
NAME: I won’t give out my real name, so just call me Ludwig or any variation of it: Lud, Luddy, whatever works.
OTHER CHARACTERS: Lovino once, Feliciano once, but that’s it.
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE (from MarkeTalia):
“And I also need to go to Canned Goods and fix those, because I do not like how precariously those cans are placed…” Ludwig ran through his mental checklist as he walked briskly through the aisles, trying both to take care of his own work and to fix everyone else’s. He blamed Lovino for the precariously placed cans. Yes, perhaps it was a bit biased of him, but the disorganization just reeked of him. Ludwig supposed he ought to just let it go, but he was a bit irritated, because he did not need to make any extra work for himself, especially since his shift in the Pet Department started in…
Beep!
“Scheiße!” Ludwig swore under his breath as he glanced at his watch, which was responsible for the annoying noise. Of course, he’d bought this particular watch specifically for the alarm. It was ugly as sin, but it did help keep him organized. “It’s one-thirty already? Verdammt, I can’t be late on my first day…” His steps increased in pace as he tied off the loose ends from this shift (the cans would have to wait) and headed over to Pets.
“You need something?” Ludwig barely suppressed a gasp of surprise as a man materialized behind him, shooting him a who-do-you-think-you-are glare, so reminiscent of Lovino. Verdammt, he thought he’d escaped Lovino. Oh, well.
“Yes, sir,” he replied. “My name is Ludwig Beilschmidt, and I’m supposed to start here today-” He meant to continue, but it appeared that wasn’t necessary.
“Gil’s brother, right?” the man said, scowl suddenly replaced by a smile. “C’mon, then, your shift starts in five minutes.” Ludwig followed behind him as the man continued, “Can’t tell you how glad I am that somebody’s here to keep him in check; he’s kind of a nightmare sometimes, y’know?”
Ludwig’s mouth tilted up slightly in a barely-there smile. “Believe me, I know.” And with that, he stepped into his first day of work in the Pet Department…and his first Gilbert-induced disaster to remedy…
